RC&D Grant Funds SWCD Pollinator Project

The Arrow Head Country Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc (RC&D) met in Winamac, Indiana recently to award over $50,000 in grants.  Kosciusko County groups received 7 of the 15 awards totaling $24,420.00. During this meeting, Arrow Head was pleased to award $2,000 to Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to fund an urban pollinator project. This project will be used to educate the public about the value of pollinator plants in an urban setting.

Arrow Head Country RC&D is a non-profit organization comprised of Cass, Fulton, Jasper, Kosciusko, Marshall, Miami, Newton, Pulaski, Starke, and White counties in Indiana. The purpose of the organization is to provide local leadership and resources for developing and carrying out a plan for the orderly conservation, improvement, development and wise use of the natural resources, thereby improving the quality of life for all the people living in the area.

“The Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District appreciates having its urban pollinator project selected for funding,” commented Darci Zolman, SWCD Program Administrator. “This will be a useful program to help us deliver our conservation message on this timely topic.”
